Dual Honours for Ubuhle People Solutions at 2025 W&RSETA Good Practice Awards

National Award celebrates excellence in leadership and Skills Development

Ubuhle People Solutions has been recognised for its leadership in skills development, taking second place in the highly contested Accredited Training Provider category and third place in the Women in Leadership category at the national 2025 W&RSETA Good Practice Awards (GPAs).

Hosted by the Wholesale and Retail Sector Education and Training Authority (W&RSETA), the GPAs have become a benchmark for excellence and innovation in South Africa’s wholesale and retail industry. The Awards spotlight companies and individuals that deliver measurable impact through training, transformation and youth empowerment.

“This award affirms the passion, innovation and professionalism that define the Ubuhle team,” says Anand Krishna, Ubuhle’s National Projects Director. “Our goal has always been to create learning experiences that go beyond compliance, to empower our learners, enhance performance and drive growth for the companies we work with. This recognition confirms that our approach delivers real results.”

Ubuhle’s Chief Executive Officer, Liza Gresse, was also in the honoured at the awards ceremony, receiving third place in the Women in Leadership category, recognising her 30-year contribution to building Ubuhle, advancing leadership and developing talent across South Africa and beyond.

“This recognition is deeply meaningful,” says Gresse. “Throughout my career, I’ve been privileged to coach and mentor leaders who continue to make a difference in their organisations and communities. To me, leadership is about serving others – unlocking potential, inspiring confidence and creating pathways for people to grow and succeed.”

Now in its eleventh year, the GPAs continue to highlight the power of collaboration and innovation in building a world-class retail and wholesale sector that invests in people as the driving force of economic progress.

Krishna adds that the two awards reaffirm Ubuhle’s mission to create real, lasting change through learning and development: “We measure success by the change it creates, not just in business outcomes but in people’s lives. When training leads to opportunity, employment and growth, that’s when we know we are making the impact that matters.”

Currently, she is CEO at the UBUHLE Group, where she provides leadership to a team of 50 Organisational Development (OD) and Learning & Development (L&D) specialists.

Liza has an in-depth understanding of the principles of talent management, organisational development and change management. She has successfully orchestrated and executed global projects in these fields, catering to diverse clients.

Liza also brings more than a decade of coaching experience to the table, holding a recognised qualification as a Coach. Her expertise in this regard is focused on senior-level leaders in international organisations, offering them guidance and support.
